France is the place to be to collect ald cars, motorcycles and mopeds. We all know of course: Citroen , Peugeot, Renault, Simca, Terrot, Mobylette, Solex, etc.. etc..

In the last few years at our campsite we brought togheter in a very short time a small collection of to renovate cars and mopeds. Many were bought on local fleemarkets (vide-greniers) for still a very reasonable price. Cars were found in barns/granges or just left in the farmersfields. Sometimes if you are lucky you can still find interesting old cars at normal garagistes who still don't have internet and have no clue at all what might be the value of their cars.

Often trademarkets are being held at which you still can find loads of parts for interesting prices.See list below of nearby "bourse déchanges". Collecting cars/motors is not only for the happy few rich English and Dutch but it seems the french are more collectioners than you could imagine. In our charente-Limousine area you can find almost on every street corner oldtimers, hidden away in barns .

Regularely tour rides are organised for everybody having an old car ( no matter type or make). Not only good fun driving but also the event it self is worth visiting.  What about a nice meal with friends under the french sun?

For sure if you stay at our place you visit our cars and mopeds. We are building a kind of museum at the moment.

As you can see all cars and mopeds have to be renovated/restaured. Happy wintertime has arived. So come over to our collecters paradise in springtime.

26 september 2010: Saint Brice sur Vienne: Flower power oldtimer tour. (in 2009 there were 200 cars and motors present!) There is also a trade market. Open for everyone. Free entrance. You only have to wear cloths with flowers on it, and have to decorate your car.  You can subscribe yourself at: www.lespistonsdelaglane.com.   There is a possibility to have a  meal with all drivers of the tour at 10,00 euros per person. Note: your subscription and dinner-payment , must be in their possession before  20-09-2010.
